    Can shorties wear Melodias?

I'm only 5 feet with shoes on. I'm worried that super flared pants will make me look like I'm all butt and feet (my backside is not ...insignificant..c::) or even shorter than I am.
    Any thoughts?

Depends on your shape, proportions, and where the flare starts.

What is your thigh length to calf length ratio? How big is your booty?

If the flare starts higher up the knee, it probably will bring your height down. If starts lower down the leg and more subtle, probably not so bad.

Do they make Melos that small in the inseam? I've not encountered any that small. :0(

I'm only 2" taller than you. I think they look good on me, and I feel that the sash or mini style does wonders to disguise my big booty.

Woman, if your booty is big mine is enormous. ..l;,
My skirts have to be 33 inches - and I wear them a bit high to help hide stretchmarks. Needless to say my legs are quite short... and my chest and hips are well endowed. I am intrigued by the whole sash idea... although I know I would have to cut them (I believe someone once said that you could cut the Sharifwear) and I'm afraid that there wouldn't be much flare left. I don't think the flare would start above my knee..... but it may be too close to the ankle...l;,

I am a fellow shortie at 5 feet. I wear skirts at 33 inches. My measurements is upper hip 30" and lower hip (biggest part of my booty) is 36.5" I don't have a big booty but it is bubbly (think Jennifer Lopez, its gotta be a hispanic thing). My fear is the same as you with having to cut too much off and it won't look the same. So I am really interested in what everyone else says.

I'm 5'2" with a 35" upper/38" lower hip and I wear Melodias. I didn't even cut the bottoms off. I ordered the size medium with a 32" inseam. I normally wear my skirts about 32 or 33" 'cause I like to wear them low. I dance in a troupe of similar shorties and we all wear them. I'll see if I can find a photo.

I don't think they are flattering to anyone, especially the very curvy or height-challenged, just my opinion. From behind they say "DUMPY!".

I'm not quite 5'1" and I love how my melodias look and have had many compliments. I chose the ones without mini or kerchief butt covers because I thought it would make my legs have a longer line. I did lose a little flare when hemming though (actually, I just cut one pair and they wash well, no fraying.)

Oh, and as for knee/flare placement, it wasn't a probem I had. Also, when I said that I lost flare, I mean very little. I didn't think it was significant, actually, I thought it looked more proportioned.

And remember, they are suppose to drag on the ground a bit. I wear the 33' inseam melodias, but my actual inseam is 30".

Okay I'm not short - 5'6" - but I am short waisted and my hips do flare out. I find that if I want to minimize my hips, I wear melodias - and skirts too - to give the illusion of longness in my waist. Also, if you wear them dragging on the ground and start the flare placement just below the knee, it makes the thighs look longer too.

I think they could look really good, because they slink in over the thighs and flare, rather than encase your lower body in a giant bell-shape like a circle skirt (for instance) does. More fitted looks can work really well on a short person regardless of whether she is teeny or voluptuous.

I have yet to see someone of any size, shape, or height that doesn't look good in Melos. :)

If you check out their eBay store, they do have a few special pairs "Just for shorties." Snap 'em up when they're available, because they usually only sell a few pairs here and there!

Here's the link to the "shorty" section of Melodias' eBay store:

I am only 5'1" and I wear Melos, but... I have long legs and a short torso and no hips, so I have to be very careful that the longer inseams aren't too big in the hips.

You might also check out Geisha Moth pants. She is on ebay. I have several pairs of Geisha Moth pants and they are seriously hot! I like them better than Melodias.

I'm 5'2" and I got some great pants at L Rose. They aren't the melodia style per se, but they are bellbottoms and they do come in lengths for us short folks.
