    Fringy pants

I have a question for all of you about these pants. I'm new, so I wonder about your feelings about these. (I love them, and she makes everything look great.) They sparkle, they move, are they belly dancer ish enough? [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vUJc9fK71K0"]YouTube - Brooke Burke and Derek Hough DWTS salsa[/ame]

Would any of you wear these? Or no?

I think they'd be cute if there was fringe at the hip and from the knee down, whether they be rows of short fringe or single rows of longer fringe.

I personally don't like pants for belly dance, but I remember Aradia wearing a white skirt that was really similar and the movement was fantastic. If I recall correctly, she said her mom had made them for her.

I had a feeling they'd be pretty pricey! Others on that page were $980. Yeouch! Did you notice they called them "fringy pants" too?--I thought I was making that up! Every time I watch that clip, I think I like them more.

I think that they would work for some people, on me, I would look like cousin It! Go for it! You could always add a little to the waist to make them more BD if you wanted.

Cousin It, ha! - now you made me have visions of tarantula legs! Gothique? Is that what these are? No, please, say it isn't so! Maybe I just have to avoid them in black- and brown (too gorrilla like) !..l;,

I've seen videos of at least a couple of different male belly dancers in these. I have yet to decide how I feel about fringy pants LOL

The wonderful thing about chainette fringe is that it shows the tiniest movement beautifully. It's also very light and comfortable to wear, as opposed to heavy beaded fringe.

That said, being very short and bottom heavy, I know for sure I would look like a muppet in them. ..l;,

I love this costume, my Mom did make it, she said it was a nightmare to get the fringe into V's evenly!! Here is a video clip from the "LA Fever" show when Dina was in CA.

I'm currently working on a Samba-Belly Fusion for a co-troupe member (I'm mixing Hip Hip Chin Chin with the theme from I Dream of Jeannie - too fun). She wanted to do it in the fringy pants. But now that I've seen Aradia's OUTSTANDING skirt, I might have to re-think this!

    Re: Fringy pants

It's a lot of fun to dance in, and it can be washed, which most of our costumes can't!! That's a plus since it's white, I just use oxyclean and it makes it look great again!!
