Belly Dance Store question
It is really hard to tell how bras are going to fit when they are on a form. Has anyone with larger breasts ever tried on one like this one, http://bellydancestore.biz/gallery.p...no=5&catId=20? Just in case it doesn't show up by itself it is the plus size #2668 in green. Are the cups as far apart as they look? Do they give decent coverage? I guess I should also mention that they are not, shall we say, perky?

I've never tried it on personally but I have costumes like that.. If the cups are too far apart for you that's an easy fix. You can sew the cups together or add tight elastic to that middle piece between the cups and that brings them in a little and makes it feel a little tighter and more secure.

Unfortunately, while not having large breasts, I find that no matter the size, the best way is to just try it on. Every single costume in the world is different. I don't suppose this helps much but it has been my own experience.

Re: Belly Dance Store question
I think the cups look like decent quality for an economical costume. They look like they don't "round out" much - if you look at the vertical line the cup makes against the mannequin's upper arm - it's not a very curvy shaped bra, at least at the outer sides of the cup. I've found this to be a little tricky if you have "heavy" breasts - (pardon the expression) - but sometimes the cups don't curve under the breast much and this could be a potential fit/safety issue. One thing I've learned about the bellydancestore and specifically their mannequin is that it's tinier than it looks! I've purchased some bras that looked perfect for me because of the way they seemed to fit the mannequin, only to have the bra arrive and realize it's a tiny version of what I thought I was buying. Like it would fit a 9 yr old girl tiny.
for reference, I bought this one:

and on the mannequin the cups look like dinner plates and I was concerned about it working. Ended up fitting me at 38 C/D perfectly. I don't know your cup size, but maybe you could use the pics and my sizing for a reference point.
It's a cute costume and good price. The store is pretty good about taking returns within 7 days, you just have to stay on top of it.
eta: hmm, just realized that this costume is on a different mannequin... that may negate my whole thought process....Last edited by joanneraks; 11-21-2008 at 01:39 PM.

OT but: Ms. Joanne, do you still have that beautiful thing? I've been lusting after this style since I first saw it on Ahava. I know I would have to beef up the cups, but still -- please put me in line if you have it and you ever decide to sell. It's gorgeous, and I bet you're a knockout in it!

Re: Belly Dance Store question
thank you! actually I sold it here on bhuz to jewelsdances who then sold it as well.. I think to floreatmanon?? It was gorgeous and the skirt was so sensuous... but the cups didn't cup under my breast enough for me to feel super safe and the color was not as flattering on me as I'd hoped. hmmm... it was yummy, though.

Ahhh, I see. I'm sorry to hear that it didn't work out for you. From another angle, it's also weirdly comforting: if you had fit issues with the bra, I'd have even bigger ones! I hope it ended up with the perfect home. I saw a similar one looking gorgeous on Adishakti recently....
We should do a custom order of velvet Emans for the bigger-busted. ..g.:..g.:

I think there's a group for D-cups already. If so, we should start using it!

Re: Belly Dance Store question
I wish that I could go and try this stuff on but there aren't really any sellers in my area that I know of. I ALWAYS try on bras in the store before I buy cause you just never know how a cup is going to fit on the rack.
