    Nickolaus Technique

Anyone ever tried this? I did it as a teenager and loved it, then forgot all about it until recently. I just bought the book used online, and this morning did the sequence for the first time since then. I forgot how nice it is! It's similar to Pilates - in fact, some of the exercises come from that, which the introduction states. It was designed by a ballet dancer who was injured, and told he'd never dance again.

I think I like it better than Pilates - I feel more stretched and relaxed.

Let me know if you find anything. I suspect there's not much out there about it anymore. I had to buy the book used; I'm sure it's well out of print. But when I was a teenager, there were people teaching it in dance studios in New York. I went to one on West 72nd.

I'd love to know, from a fitness safety perspective, how the exercises hold up.

You can go to dietfitness.com where there is a DVD based on the Nickolaus Technique called "The Nickolaus Stretch" designed by the original creator, Richard Nickolaus.
