Dress measurements
I am trying to buy an Oriental lycra dress...I've never worn one before, so I have no idea of how to measure for one.
I had my boyfriend measure from chest to floor (about in the middle where I would want the bra to be and it was 54.5 inches to the floor. Then he measured from the back shoulder to the floor (measuring around the bum) and it was 59.5. I am tall with a long torso and long arms and I am just afraid to get something too short.
I mean I know I don't want my dress to drag on the floor, so maybe I should subtract an inch...then Dunyah mentioned that I might want to account for it stretching around my curves.
How do I figure out my size with dresses?

Re: Dress measurements
I found that I do need to order longer than usual because of curves taking up material. I'm 5'9" and my dresses need to be minimum 60 inches long.
You may want to try for something that you can hem the first time, I'd rather be safe and get it longer.Last edited by ANISAHDANCER; 11-23-2008 at 08:21 PM.
