Help the Dummy: Altering a skirt
I bought a pretty costume from Lilybellydance and the skirt is a tad too big. Its one of those lycra trumpet skirts with chingos beading. There's already three strips of elastic around the inside of the skirt ( to make it fit smaller) but its still a little loose. Can someone talk me through how I would adjust the elastics? Do I just undo one end, pull and re-tack that end? I'm hoping to fix this for a gig this Friday...

Pretty much!
The only thing I would add is try to take evenly from all three elastics, rather than just from one - that way, it will be more even.

Yes, you should just be able to undo it at the ends and pull it tighter. It might be easier if you do it at both ends rather than just one. Is it in a thread casing?

Re: Help the Dummy: Altering a skirt
It's been criss-cross tacked all the way across, so I guess that's a thread casing? I was planning on adjusting all three pieces of elastic. So shahla, you're suggesting pulling on both ends rather than on one?
