Pic of Dina's fishnet dress from Monte Carlo?
I don't have my DVD anymore, but I'm looking for a pic -- even a blurry screen grab -- of Dina wearing that brown fishnet balady dress.
Anyone have one? Seen one? It doesn't seem to be on youtube that I can find.

I've searched, and can't find anything either by her name, or the clubs name.
Do you remember the titles of the music she danced to?
Someone might have used the music for a tag.

Unfortunately, macs won't play saut wa soura videos. Isn't that strange?

I remember Bint il Balad. The other song MIGHT have been Ghanili Shwaye Shwaye. Too many spelling variation possibilities to search for, though!
Sedonia, that's REALLY weird!

*MUAH*
If I have another baby, it'll be named Michelle75!
Here's just the pic, you can make out the basics of the dress from this.
I can't find fishnet quite that big, though.

I would look for industrial strength fishnet, like what fishermen use when trawling.
This is what we used in the Navy. It's large but not heavy. Nevermind the word heavy, it refers to how big the knot is, not the weight of the material.

I might wear these under it, then:
Seriously, that's a good idea. I'll cast around for something...

Hahahha,
Search the word, "netting sizes" instead of fishnet.Last edited by Michelle75; 11-29-2008 at 03:36 PM.

The netting reminds me of the Turkish sequined netting they were making skirts out of in the 90's. Sure wish I had one; I let Gulseren talk me out of buying one because she said the belt fringe got caught in the holes of the netting.

OH, I used to LOVE those! I don't think you can get them any more -- not new, at least. I used to love the sleeves with the sequins, too.

Re: Pic of Dina's fishnet dress from Monte Carlo?
I checked the website for netting and read something that surprised me ...
" Netting can be dyed with household dyes . Netting is 4 ft high, 1-3/4 inch square and 3-1/2 inch stretched mesh. Made of white #15 nylon and knotted."
I wasn't aware nylon would accept household dyes. Now I am thinking about some other projects. Thx Michelle 75!

Re: Pic of Dina's fishnet dress from Monte Carlo?
Thanks, Beki. I do know how to screen grab on my Mac, but I don't have the video any more. Apparently Sedonia has it, but her Mac won't play the video (or any videos from that producer). That's why I said windows.
That youtube clip you grabbed from is from an Ahlan Wa Sahlan performance, the whole video is AMAZING and I'll bring it to our next video party!

Nagwa had one that was fab in the 70's.

That is a fun video! I would've never thought a fishnet would be such a great addition to a costume! It takes center stage over a body stocking anyday!

Re: Pic of Dina's fishnet dress from Monte Carlo?
I'm having a hard time getting a clear view, but this looks like a bedlah and skirt worn with one of those beaded/crocheted overdresses?? Similar concept, great look.
HOLY CRAP, NO WAY!!! How much is it? *holds breath*
I've been thinking....I don't want mine to be quite as see-through as Dina's, and I like the idea of working with a stretchy fabric, so I think I might go back to the fishnet.
I have some semi-transparent stretch lace that's been languishing on my shelves for a year or more, along with some matching trims. I think I'll make up an underbust beledi dress out of that first to play with the pattern, and then maybe I'll do a higher-necked version in fishnet.
