A good reason to own inexpensive makeup...

...PINKEYE, not to be confused with the 'stinkeye.' Thank goodness I don't own expensive makeup as it all has to go! ,f:: Just a piece of advice here for you all that have young kids; it is a bacterial infection of the eye(s) that is highly contagious and is usually brought home from said children. Change your sheets and pillowcases daily, don't touch your eyes or face, and Lysol the heck out of the house (or any other acceptable germ killing substance). With everyone being in much closer contact because of the cold weather it's something to look out for!

    Common symptoms:
Reddened sclera of one or both eyes.
    Itching.
Mattering, or mucous build up, especially in the morning.

I'm sure there are others, but this is what we've experienced. Hope nobody else gets it (backs away, slowly)!

Gotta love our kids and all that they share. Our school has had Impetigo; Hand, Foot and Mouth; A nasty stomache bug; the ever popular lice and now my daughter has an adenoid virus that gives high fevers (she had 105) and blisters in the throat and mouth and all this fall. Never a dull moment... good thing they're so cute!

I got it FROM my eye doctor's office.

When you get your eyes checked, make sure they wipe the equipment down, real well, before your exam....stupid me...I DIDN'T make sure!!!

The tech did wipe it, but she did it so fast, it wasn't thorough.

I won't do that again, it was so bad it caused scar tissue!!!

I KNEW it was from THERE, because they basically admitted it!
Along with the fact some of my former co-workers had also been there a few days before, and had to go BACK because of the pinkeye infection.

I haven't gone back to his office since!!!

Knock on wood - I've never ever had pink eye or lice. Only strep throat. I'm ever so cautious about trying on hats or wearing other peoples makeup as well as throwing out my eye makeup every six months... so I don't get makeup unless I wear it. That means no extra eye shadows to play around with... and I never trust the makeup counters either. Too many people sticking their fingers in the makeup - gross! Oh and thank God I'm childless!

If you have furry children they can give you ringworm....and ticks. Bleh!
    I love all mine anyway!

Oh yeah, don't forget if you do ever get pinkeye, sanitize your makeup tools before you use them after you've recovered, or better yet, replace them. I bought some awesome brushes from the craft department at WallyWorld, of all places. All sizes of nice soft brushes, and some of them are angled. I got six of them for three bucks!
