Thread: TUTORIALS: Easy Panel Skirt & Double Panel/Petal Skirt

Hi Everyone!

I've posted up two new tutorials for the DIY bellydancer. The first is a very quick and easy panel skirt (takes about 1 hour to make). It's so easy that I've taught several self-proclaimed "incapable of sewing" dancers how to make it and they now make these panel skirts all the time. This particular type of panel skirt is great for the tribal or fusion look and, with nicely decorated fabric, can also work well for oriental style costumes.

The second tutorial is a little more complicated and is best done with a fancier fabric. It's a very similar concept to the one detailed in the easy panel skirt tutorial, but this time you're creating panels with multiple layers that give the illusion of a cabaret-style petal skirt. The best part is this skirt is adjustable :)
