Staying in shape!
I'm a beginner bellydancer (just finished my first set of classes two weeks ago) and I'm wondering if anyone can offer any exercises that can help a beginner stay in shape over the holidays.
The next set of classes doesn't begin until the second week of January and I don't want my stomach muscles to go soft! Thanks for all your help ..l;,

keep belly dancing once a day for 30 min to and hour! I have three kids and this is all i do i have not done sit ups or gone to the gym in 4 years. it works it is awsome like yoga or pilates!

Try to get a good beginners DVD to practice with I'd recommend Jenna's Basics and Beyond. Also you could make up a practice list of the moves that you have learn't so far and do this on a daily basis, it will be really good for your dancing to establish home practice early on
