Andalee, your pearl costume is off to a great start. I can't wait to see photos of you wearing it.
I've just begun work on a new costume for fellow bhuzer Erindances. It's going to be a bedlah with a trumpet skirt and some accessories. The skirt and bra/belt base will be made with a dark brown velvet. There will be some golden leopard accents and gold fringe. I've also ordered some large swarovski AB crystals to go on it. So far, I've gotten the bra and belt base made and covered in the velvet fabric. I'll post a photo when I'm a little further along.

I am still into my heart costume phase so I am making a white mesh bra and belt with pink sequin hearts and big crystal hearts. Fun! I will post pics soon. It doesn't have a home yet so it will go up for sale eventually.

Eshta, it sounds like the timing will be near perfect for someone looking for a Valentine's day costume. Can't wait to see pics.

I've finally constructed the belt basis for my assuit/coin costume. Once my crystals and the rest of my beads are delivered I'll take photos of the materials to post.

Peacock motif costume, because it's going to take a while.

Monkeys, monkeys, and more monkeys (of the sock variety).
I got booked to do a whole troupe of tribal dancers for christmas presents, plus a few others.
Oh well, I enjoy making them... and it gives ma a reason to ignore the housework.
(it also helps to pay for that Bella Rania is sending me!)

I am thinking that I am going to make a silver costume similar to the lovely roses costume which Tanya is selling. As my boobs will NEVER fit into that one, I think it behooves me to make one for myself.
Now if I get booked for a Christmas show, I could always see if I could find pointesetia applaques!

After joining the 90 day Better Belly Dancer decided to reward myself with a new costume. Hopefully it will be completed before that time is up. :cr:

Re: "What are you working on?" - December
Here's my addition. I am really pleased with how this turned out. However, the sash pulls too tight when I put the costume on. I either need to redo the whole sash (not fun because it took quite a lot of work, and would mean redoing the zipper despite the rutching, etc) or lose some weight!
So, I think I'll post it on the swap, chalk it up as a lesson learned and give it another go. I've got so much beautiful fabric here, I'm anxious to start on something new. If it doesn't sell, then I'll redo the sash and keep it, I guess!
Next time, instead of sewing the sash to the skirt, I'll make little loops for it.
The camera doesn't seem to be catching it and my battery died just before I could do a close up of the bra. However, I'd reinforced the pattern with white glass beads in places, and rhinestones dangle from each section where the sash gathers on the skirt. The white drapes have the glue-on rhinestones, and there are large crystals at the top of the sash where it gathers at the top of the skirt and on the bra.Last edited by Adishakti; 02-22-2009 at 05:23 PM.

Re: "What are you working on?" - December
I bought a beautiful moss green trumpet/mermaid skirt off the swap pages and I am thinking of using it as the base for my own take on the Eman Hollywood costumes.
I would love to hear your opinion on something! I have been waffling back and forth on which fabric to use for the draping on the skirt and the ruching on the bra. Spandex World has a slinky fabric that matches well (I ordered a sample) and they also have a animal print velvet in complimentary colors. I am wondering which one to use. I am trying to imagine the animal print velvet over the crushed velvet skirt and can't decide whether it will work or not.
Any comments would be appreciated!

Re: "What are you working on?" - December
I've managed to finish my burgundy and crystal set, so all that's really left is my daughter's Xmas/Yule present... a tealy-blue-green bra and scarf with circle and a half skirt. Yes, I know it's December 10th. I'm working as fast as I can! Somehow, it's just not moving as quickly as I would have hoped!,f::
