Thread: Akai Silks

I received my very first A'kai Silks veil/skirt set last night! ..g.: (Early Christmas gifts are the best.) I had to play with the veil as soon as I opened it. The set is absolutely beautiful--I've never owned anything like it. I've got to find the perfect bra/belt set to wear with it now... ..l;,

I do not view A'kai items as silk - I prefer to think of them as art. Everyone needs art in their life, right? Plus it can be used for dance. Total score all around. I am looking at 5 veils on one wall, practical art-work. (I actually tacked clear fishing line near the ceiling so I can simply drape the silk over it. I prefer not to poke holes in the lovely art. Also easier to remove and replace when needed for dance.)

Yup - when I look at my veils (it's a huge collection...), there's 3 categories: Chiffon, silk, and a'kai.

I'm ruthless about selling costumes, skirts, etc. after I've worn them several times, because I love getting new things.

But I've never once been able to let go of an Akia veil.
