    I Need Pants!!!

Seriously, my suhaila scrunchies are sadly faded and my melodias are not looking so good either. We've had these threads before, I know, but I'm starting this one for 2009. Please post suggestions for cute dance pants that dont cost an arm & a leg. I like the Melodia style flare and I like attached skirts covering up the precious secrets..g.: And since I work in the theatre/with kids/teach dance classes, I live in these things, not just perform in them.

Any leads anyone??? Anyone on Bhuz make these, even?

Do you sew? You might do better to sew your own pants. Since you use them so much it would probably save you money. I know there is a good pattern for melodias style pants out there. And . . . . the simplicity pattern for bellydance costumes is the best for harem pants. In fact, the harem pants I made with this pattern are better than the pairs I have purchased. Just an idea . . . if you sew or know someone who does.

I can't say enough good things about L. Rose's jazz pants.

    Re: I Need Pants!!!

I like Old Navy's yoga pants. They're cheap and they seem to last a fairly long time for the price. I use them to dance and workout in.

I also have to second the Desertdancer pants. A couple of the ladies in my troupe have them and like them and they're less expensive than Melodias.

I have also had a pair of L Rose's jazz pants, but don't find they're any better (for me anyway) than my cheap Old Navy pants.

I think someone may have mentioned in another thread about pants that they liked Victorias Secret Yoga pants. I don't have any, so I can't speak for them.

Do you have a TJ Maxx near? I came across some wonderful flaired pants with a V shaped waist for $20.00.

I don't suppose you could head over to 3rd Coast Festival next week to do some shopping? GeishaMoth will be there vending her fabulous pants and tops....and I have to confess, I own more GM pants then I can count - super comfy, fun and depending on the style, easy to wear anywhere.

I'll check out Desertdancer's site. Alas I do not sew...

And I do love Geisha Moth's stuff! A little pricey but really cool looking. Where does she sell online these days besides Tribe ( which I don't frequent)? Her etsy site is very sparse..

Aw thanks! I wear the small size, though. I wish Melodias weren't so expensive!

I tend to buy them from her when I'm out in Cali or she's here for Rakkasah East/Spring Caravan, but otherwise, the most activity is via tribe, and she does have a website now, not sure how active it is with listings. It's all very high quality and durable, well-sewn.

I don't know if this is quite what you want but my secret habibi sent me pants from lucy.com that are very comfortable. I went to their site and their sale items are 50% off the sale price so it might fit your pocket better :)

    Shameless plug coming in....3...2...1...

How about some MagidahWear? Tactel nylon and lycra means no shrinking, fading or pilling. Seriously, they last forEVER. I finally had to retire some prototypes that were almost three years old last month. We don't have anything with an attached skirt -- I'm looking into it for spring -- but if I can teach 8 hour 'n a half classes in them every week, put them through the washer and dryer, and they still look great......I'm sure you will love them.

Oh! I forgot to say that they make everyone's butt look amazing. If you have curvaceousness, they accentuate without showing the crack of dawn, and if you are on the less round side, they make you look like you have just the right amount of junk in the trunk.

Magidah's pants are fan-freaking-tastic! I LOVE the way they fit--very slimming and form-fitting without squeezing. The fabric is amazing, too--mine still look brand new after wearing them to class for 5 months now. These are my favorites for class.

I do love these - I just wish they were available in more colors. Do you have plans to offer any non-black pants?

I bought two pairs of yoga pants at Old Navy last evening and test drove one pair at a workshop today. I love them, especially since they were only $19.00!

    Re: I Need Pants!!!

oo those are nice. I'll have to get a pair for sure.

I like the kinds with the attached skirt because it just looks cuter/finished when its teamed with a t-shirt/top & hoodie jacket. I'm trying to cull my extensive workout clothing wardrobe and the pants that give me cameltoe are going away. I also hate the feel of a hipscarf knot digging into my waistline so I don't wear those anymore.
