Yoga dvd recommendations
I am wanting to purchase a yoga dvd, so I can practice as home... I have been doing vinyasa flow yoga for about a year, so i consider myself an almost level 2 or so, advanced beginner, I guess?? Any recommendations for a workout that is not truly beginner? Thanks!

Re: Yoga dvd recommendations
I really, really love [ame="http://www.amazon.com/Ali-MacGraw-Yoga-Mind-Body/dp/B0000DI88C/ref=tag_tdp_sv_edpp_i"]Yoga Mind and Body[/ame] by Erich Schiffman. It is challenging but doable, it makes me happy, I like the music and his very unobtrusive commentary/direction, and I like the diversity of the participants.
He also has other DVDs, though I have not tried them (but really want to):
Moving Into Stillness
I also have been working on and off with Shiva Rea's [ame="http://www.amazon.com/Shiva-Rea-Yoga-Shakti/dp/1591791847/ref=pd_lpo_k2_dp_k2a_1_img?pf_rd_p=304485601&pf_rd _s=lpo-top-stripe-2&pf_rd_t=201&pf_rd_i=B000PUB29I&pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX 0DER&pf_rd_r=1MWF0N5EB7MXYZ0QV0FT"]Yoga Shakti[/ame]. It is just...crammed with stuff. I have even not tried half of it yet (Not sure if this applies to you, but I don't do too many inversions at home, and there are lots of them on here). It is a very cool setup, you can do one of the four preset sessions (all one to two hours long apiece), or you can create your own. I think this video can be useful to advanced beginners, and it is also definitely one to grow with.
My long term standby is [ame="http://www.amazon.com/Yoga-Practice-Energy-Rodney-Yee/dp/630394177X"]Yoga for Energy[/ame] ny Rodney Yee. It is older, and it is marketed to beginners though there is very little breakdown and it is pretty rigorous in parts. I think it is just a great video: challenging when I need it to be, and very comforting when I want to just settle in with the movements.

Re: Yoga dvd recommendations
Thanks for the feedback, I have been wondering about Shiva Rea's dvd'. I don't do inversion/headstands yet... so maybe I'll wait on it.
Anyone else? Lauren?

Re: Yoga dvd recommendations
I don't use a lot of DVDs for yoga, so I'm not a great deal of help.
I have Shiva Rhea's Shakti and really like it. If you like a fast-ish paced, challenging (but not power yoga) flow and you have some experience, it's a beautiful DVD. You can also mix and match the chapters onscreen to create your own practice, which is brilliant.
I'm also a big fan of Rodney Yee (he has an intermediate video out that introduces inversions) and Patricia Walden. I don't know if either of them has a flow video out, though.

Re: Yoga dvd recommendations
I was at a Rachel Brice workshop and she recommended Ali MacGraw's "Yoga Mind and Body". I got it from Amazon and I love it!
