Thread: Any guesses????(body pic in last post)

Okay, I bought this costume off another dancer quite awhile ago and regretfully never really got a lot of background on it. Can anybody out there give a good guess as to who designed it/when? It is so pretty!!

That is kinda what I guessed too;) But no clue at all besides the hunch!

No clue, just had to say I love it & am green with envy..g.:

I remember I saw a costume from Hoda Zaki which was similar to this one, but burgundy.

My Hoda belt does that same thing in the back when it's not on me - the crease. Also, the cups kind of look like those on my Hoda.

Yeah...kind of has the shape of the old cups the Zaki sisters used to use a few years ago, and the general aesthetic seems like it could be Hoda's (she generally has a softer, more embelished, not quite so minimalist feeling as compared to Eman...the fabrics, colors, and line of the costume look like they could be hers.

You could, I suppose, try to email her and find out...of course if it's *not* hers she may be insulted that you think it is. Ha ha! You never know.... ;-)

It definitely looks like a Hoda and to me, what says that more than the shape of the bra is the ruched fabric and the narrow band of sequin work at the top and bottom of the back of the belt and on the top and bottom edge of the bra cups. Every single Hoda that I have owned has that same little sequined detail and ruched fabric. It is really striking and if you ever want to sell it, please let me know!!

I love rusching detail, and this costume includes some really lovely work. I bet it looks a smasher on!

Thanks ladies for all your responses. If and when I decide to sell I'll refer back here (I always go back and forth cause I'm short waisted and I'm not sure about the waist straps. Maybe I'll post a pic with it on and get everyone's opinions?)

as soon as i saw it i thought hoda zaki, too.......both for the bra design AND the fabric, and ruching, and beadwork.......she's known for that classic styling....and in the early days, the zaki sisters didn't always have a label inside.......hoda labels heavily now........there IS another designer that does alot of ruching, but it's not this detailed and meticulous

it's gorgeous! but safe from me cuz those overhip straps are bad on MY shortwaisted self, or i'd be all over it!

Okay...here it is and pulled down as low as it can to give the illusion of a longer torso (LOL!) Also, please excuse my spillage in the boob area, still nursing so I'm a little bigger in that department these days..l;,
