"Perfect for Belly Dance..." (not)
Here's a real trend-setter:

It looks like what Raquel Welch wore in One Million Years B.C.

It actually looks like a very nicely-made set. I'd rather see that out at RenFaire than (unlined) chain mail bras, and the super-skimpy chiffon skirts some visitors favor.
This reminds me of costuming from the original Star Trek series...g.:

Re: "Perfect for Belly Dance..." (not)
ooooooh you'd be surprised!
loooooots of youtube wonders trying to impress their boyfriends at campfires............
however, SCA and SOME faires actually boast some amazing dancers............AND i've seen some tribal wear made with leather and fur that looks really, really good................i'm personally not crazy about this one.....
i HAVE seen a couple of dancers that participate in LARPs that are quite good, but there is that 'bunny' contingent you'll get anywhere..........

just add boots & it reminds me of
what Ukrainian singer Ruslana wore to win Eurovision 2004: ..g.:

Re: "Perfect for Belly Dance..." (not)
I pretty much assumed that bellydancing LARPers were tribal dancers or did the whole Ren-Faire/SCA thing, but a SCA/LARPing bellydance costume is just way too much. ..l;, That's hilarious! Not knocking it at all, but I think it's quite funny how all of these odd elements get constantly squeezed in with bellydance.
I guess as bellydance continues to reach people of all walks of life, they will blend their cultures, lifestyles and other hobbies with it.

Re: "Perfect for Belly Dance..." (not)
To give the Ebay poster credit, I don't see that she mentioned SCA anywhere in her listing. She describes it as a fantasy costume, and IMO this costume would work great for a fantasy/themed bellydance piece (assuming the skirt is not too short for the wearer, or is supplemented).

Re: "Perfect for Belly Dance..." (not)
"LARP" is the acronym for "Live-Action Role Play." It's basically used as verb by people who are hardcore role playing gamers. People who are into Dungeons and Dragons; people who like to re-enact historic wars, events or medieval battles and pillaging. Stuff like that.
So if you play live-action role playing games you "LARP" or you are "LARPing."
