Toupee tape - great for bra straps?

Howdy! Is toupee tape a good way to keep bra straps in place? I don't necessarily mean bedlah bra straps.

I have a beledi dress (bad pic in the luxury model thread) that I can wear a regular bra with underneath, but the neckline is a little too wide to accommodate straps. I can't wear strapless bras, they fall down.

So I'm thinking toupee tape to keep the straps up but angled more at my shoulders rather than between shoulder and neck where they normally sit.

    Good idea, bad idea?

    Thanks in advance!

It should definitely work - you may want to trim the tape so that it's about the same size as the bra straps. Or, you can use a thicker piece and stick the dress itself to the part of the tape peeking out from under the straps.

Yes, this should work but you might want to try it out ahead of time to get the tape positioning just right (depending on how much you move in the taped area, your skin may pull away from the tape). Try going through your choreography or whatever with the tape in place (strap in front vs over the shoulder versus closer to the back) to make sure it has the desired effect.

    I recommend Topstick brand. I <3 toupee tape!! :)

I have an alternate suggestion. I would install some bra-loops on the dress, so they are always ready to go.

Make a little strip of fabric in the color of the costume, stitch one end inside the dress. On the other end put a strong little snap, and sew the other side of the snap into the dress. Line up the bra and snap the loop over the bra strap to hold it in place.

    Is this making sense?

Yup, and my friend suggested it too. I've thought about it but not sure how the lycra would take it (also no decoration right there) as it would be constant stretching, I think.

I'd like to play with the tape first, it's cheaper and no damage to the dress if I mess up . But thanks for the suggestion!
