Re: I'm drooling over here: New stuff at Belly Dance Store
I think it's called Sparkling Serenade on Dahlal.
I saw a really pretty turquoise/teal colored Butterfly with purple accents, I think. And I tried on the teal Sultana: Belly Dance Store.com
So much prettier in person (it was my second choice)! You can't really see in the pictures, but the skirt is sparkly.

Ooh, I forgot to mention that they're going to start putting the Pharaonix cup #s in the descriptions to help out the online shoppers!

Re: I'm drooling over here: New stuff at Belly Dance Store
I live so close to the Bellydancestore it's dangerous. I'm still in love with one of her Egyptian dresses. I need to back away!
Ha, this is the costume that my BD cronies and I were laughing at when we went not too long ago! We were making some wierd references about it that I won't repeat on here. ..l;,

Re: I'm drooling over here: New stuff at Belly Dance Store
Hi,
yesterday I got my new costume from "Mamdouh".
And I must say, the working quality is really awfully! It's a disappointment!
The fabric is fine, but the work extremly bad. He use thin thread, it's tear so quick, that You lose the palliettes and perl. The work is made very sloppy and instabil...
The glued cristals are made unclean and You find glue everywhere!
There is no real balance between the costume I got and the money I have had payed!
But sending return is also expensive and the fabric is nice. Yesterday I changed the skirt and today I make the inside of the bra new.
Best regards
Salima

Re: I'm drooling over here: New stuff at Belly Dance Store
It was the Mamdouh in black-red-gold with the big roses at the skirt, remembering a little bit to spain...and nothing with the costume...no gloves...no veil....

Re: I'm drooling over here: New stuff at Belly Dance Store
Now I'm ready with the new Bra, have only to take fabric inside...The whole Bra of the Mamdouh-costume is realy new. You can see the inside picture. I only used the fabric for the waterfall...
Best regards

Re: I'm drooling over here: New stuff at Belly Dance Store
Nice costume Salima! But I agree, I saw the Mamdouh (oriental Moon) costumes at the Nilegroup festival in november and although I thought the designs were hot, I did NOT like the hot glue all over the costumes and coming out from under the huge plastic "crystals". I did see some though that had sewn on beads and they were gourgeous.

Re: I'm drooling over here: New stuff at Belly Dance Store
it's interesting..............a friend of mine went to egypt a year and a half ago on short vacation, and picked up a custom made costume out there(i have it now)...........hot-fix and glued crystals seem to be the IN thing now....kind of a risky thing in a hot climate, but they look awesome,
hmm, i've seen that rose mamdouh costume in person, and the glue 'travel' wasnt that prominent IMHO (and i'm picky :p), but i understand people have very specific standards, and your adjustments look great!
there's a gold mamdouh i'm drooling over, with gold fix crystals and bucklework on the sides.............almost mistook it for a sahar, but working with those costumes all weekend i'm figureing out his and aziz's styles
what's cool, is seeing how Eman is evolving............new styles, and looks, but unmistakeably Zaki, and the workmanship still excellent

Re: I'm drooling over here: New stuff at Belly Dance Store
Not only the glue is the problem, also the seams-work is awfully....the seams seem to be made at the machine from a child....I think, my daugther (8 years) is able to make it better....and the inside bra is covered so bad with facbric...if You tough the decoration, it fall down because rupturing the thread...it's not only one problem, the whole work is bad...the little cristals can't shine beause of the glue!
I don't know, how a designer, who want make his name, can work in this way! He wil loose his custumers...
I can only imagine, if he ist very cheap...for 150 USD is o. k. , but not for 595 USD! I think for this price there is need some quality!
Best regards

Re: I'm drooling over here: New stuff at Belly Dance Store
Well, it is definitely still there! Was just there and tried it on myself
Don't worry, it didn't leave with me! But a Pharaonics Great Loop did along with a Pharaonics skirt set in red. I tried on a luscious Pharaonics in gold and fuscia---oh I was in heaven! Same style as Dahlal's Egyptian Rose.
I tried on a Pharaonics (pretty sure) Milaya Leff costume as well and really really fell in love. It has little bobbles on the booty of the skirt (very short!) that leap nicely when you do a little shimmy..l;, Red and black and really sassy!

Re: I'm drooling over here: New stuff at Belly Dance Store
I tried on the turquoise butterfly, the colors were AMAZING. Didnt fit though, so I came home with the orange one. . . oops. ;-)
Funny thing is, I didnt think I could wear orange, but a friend of mine was in there when I got there (was totally surprised to see her) and she thought it was working too, so well, I am adjusting hooks and elastic now!
And I have to say, that store is THE most amazing store, of any kind, anywhere, EVER.
I am hooked!

Pharaonix calls that one "cocktail" from the 2006 collection. www.pharaonixofegypt.com

Yay!!!!!! You got the orange!!! It's with fuchsia and purple, right? AH! It's gorgeous!

Re: I'm drooling over here: New stuff at Belly Dance Store
Yes, its the orange, fushsia and purple. Normally orange is not my favorite color, but this past couple weeks I've had a thing for it in costumes. . . the butterfly, the other orange and red Pharonix they have there now, and the orange Eman you are selling, Samira. ALL beautiful.
And there were "enablers" shopping there when I was there, so I think it was just meant to be ;-)
I tried on the most fierce lime Eman too, got a pic to show my BF (to tell him it would make a great birthday gift), but while he LOVED the skirt, he does not like that style of bra that is on alot of the sahars and emans. . . sigh

Re: I'm drooling over here: New stuff at Belly Dance Store
I sent an e-mail for one of the gold loops. Apparently, they're still in the box and I have to wait until they show up on the Web site. Not fair!

Re: I'm drooling over here: New stuff at Belly Dance Store
I know they got a "size run" in in gold great loops- so they got one in each cup size with proportionately sized belts (as two pieces are highly adjustable). Stalk the site!!

I'm thinking about the gold GL, too. I really want one, but I have two Costless coin costumes, so I don't need another gold bedleh. Or DO I?..g.:

Re: I'm drooling over here: New stuff at Belly Dance Store
... it appears they used the Pharaonics names- so you can cross reference on Amira el Kittan's site: http://www.pharaonixofegypt.com
I guess they'll get pictures up soon! I wonder what color wig Kitty will wear NOW! ..l;,
