Looking for "gold" george washington coins
I bought Ezma's (used to be Tanya's) coin belt and I really like it -- although I do need to clean up the coins a bit. But, now what do I do for the top? I personally like the sets that look good together, but are not matchy matchy, especially if they are coin. But I would love to find a few more of these coins to tie the top and bottom together. So: any ideas where to find these (they are gold and have George Washington's head on both sides); or any ideas on making a top for a coin belt? Thanks!

I have a bedlah where the belt is made from those coins and the bra is covered with the little tin ones. (I bought it on E-bay this way. It looks fine) I also took some gold Saroyan coins and others and filled in places on both the belt and the bra. SIDE NOTE: The belt also had little cow bells on it. . .
If you want to see the bedlah in action, you can see it on my website.

Oh, I'll go look. Yeah, I don't need enough to cover a bra, just a few to sprinkle on top. I haven't ever seen these coins or medals before - I don't even know what they are called.

Re: Looking for "gold" george washington coins
Thougt I would bump this to the top because the question of where to get the coins was bothering me. While I haven't found the answer, I have discovered that there is a possibility that these coins might be what are commonly called Magicians Coins. Too coo, huh?
One cusggestion with this belt: whenever you have a coin come off, replace the jump ring with a split ring. Looks like a mini key ring. Trust me, PIA to get on, but they never come off again.
Oh, and you could harvest a few of the GW coins from the belt to put on the bra, and then use some of the coins you are covering the bra with on the belt. Adds nice texture.

You're too sweet Tahira, you're my coin/vintage costume guru-ess.
I thought they were magician's coins too, but sooo many of identical magician's coins seemed unlikely. I think they are these: george washington tokens. Yes, I thought if I could find just a few washington coins (like 6) and then get a few similar size and color I'd pull some off the belt and mix and match like you suggested. But I also don't know where to get "gold" (brass) real coins about the size of a quarter. I have a bunch of Saroyan coins (lucky me!), but I don't know if mixing real coins and Saroyans looks that good.
