Thread: anyone ever make a dress??

I think it's just a fitted beledi dress over a decorated bra. I've never made one like that, but if you look at BD Patterns # 3009 or 2011, you could make that pretty easily if you can sew.

Lucy Scheherazade Imports sells patterns for dance costumes and Also the book "costuming from the hip" I hope it helps

thank u ladies. it would be a huge long shot for me to try and make it since i sew by hand and i'm thinking make a whole dress would take me a lifetime lol i love that cossie tho :)

Easy as pie girl! I make those all the time! I don't have a pattern though. My tip is to start with a pre made dress and alter it.

All members of our troupe made this type of saidi dress, think it was in 2006, we use a night shirt (for strech fabric) Symplicity pattern and altered it and completed it with thight capri pants for a more modern look.

i think this will be on my to do lists for costumes. i have a neat design idea in my head.. i think i'll buy one made from lrose or something and fix it up myself..i'll see, but that won't be anytime soon!
