Thread: Getting the wrinkles out of lycra costumes

I would like to get rid of some wrinkles that I have in my brand new Mamdooh costume. Would a steamer work or will that make the color bleed? Also, how do you keep a lycra costume clean? My previous costumes have been chiffon skirts and beaded bras or dresses. Thanks!

i've had good success spraying mine down with water and letting it hang. it dries fairly fast and takes out the wrinkles.

i usually spray mine down with a vodka and water mix after i dance. about 3 applications usually does the trick. i've also washed mine in the tub with warm water and baking soda and a smidge of detergent and rinsed really well.

If it is just wrinkles and not a cleaning issue hang it from the shower curtain, close the bathroom door and let it hang in the steam for awhile, works great for veils as well.
