Music & Video
Ravena has the Azizia DVD for $25. I paid $40 for mine.
It is an excellect DVD. It's really long with lots of different parts. I do the 20 minute shimmy drill more than anything.

Re: Best Drills DVD?
I've seen several threads on this and Aziza's DVD keeps getting mentioned. I've resisted buying it - there are so many DVD's out there for $5 or $10, that $40 seems like a rip-off. But I've seen so many dancers rave about it, I'm beginning to think maybe you get what you pay for !

Re: Best Drills DVD?
I have the Aziza dvd, and I'm not so keen on it. Personally I don't like the way it is filmed over peoples heads, and I don't find the drills very challenging, the shimmy drill is ok, probably the best bit. I do think Aziza comes across as very likeable, and I love watching her perform, but I'm slightly puzzled as to why everyone raves about this dvd so much.
I much prefer Michelle's Drills Drills Drills, and the newer WDNY's.

I ordered the Shape Up Hip Out and Temple dvds last night, so excited! It's possible I may be investing in more at a later date :) :) :)

Re: Best Drills DVD?
I have several drill dvd's, so here geos:
Aziza drills: perfect if you're looking for better coördination, extra energy in the hands and arms and stronger shimmies. Also works great for extending your range of motions. No choreography on this one, no traveling steps, but it has layering. Shimmy and arms are my favorite parts.
Drills, drills, drills- Michelle kicks your butt, especially the plank is a part that I hate but it's great for strengthening your core! It has drills for a lot of different things, which is also it's weakness. Good choice if you want to drill 20-30 minutes a day, you can pick and chose.
goddess workout- more of a workout dvd, but it works great for me because it's all dance and no talk. Follow along, ít's a good workout and you get to drill most basic moves and a couple of combinations

Re: Best Drills DVD?
Main problem Im having is finding places to buy these dvds that use paypal but I've managed to find most of them. Except for Drills, Drills, Drills that's proving to be tricky.

Re: Best Drills DVD?
I second this thought. While I think Aziza's just about the most adorable and likeable dvd instructor (she's lively, not wooden as some are) I wonder why people rave about this dvd in particular too. I fast forward through the drills right on to the shimmy drill and then take a break and watch her perform...g.:

Re: Best Drills DVD?
I think you'll be happy with shape up and hip out. The first two combos are slow and not really enough to get my heart going (but good for just drilling so your drilling can become second nature) but the last two are great. I have always liked Jillina's instructional dvds. I just like the way they are arranged. I like how she builds on the basic and keeps adding.
I just do the last two twice each and at 20 min each that's a good workout. Have fun.
PS Let me know what you think of the temple Jihan (I think that's the one I rented from netflix) If it's the one where they are wearing jeans, then that's the one I just couldn't relate to in the least. Let me know what you think.

Re: Best Drills DVD?
I think that's a big part of it for me - when I got the DVD a couple of years ago, I found the drills fairly challenging and Aziza's personality kept me coming back even when it got frustrating.
I found the DVD especially helpful in finally achieving decent upper body isolations while sustaining a shimmy. I'd always struggled with the technique, and after a few weeks of working with the DVD I finally broke through on it.
