Questions about top adjustments
I'm starting the whole adjusting thing with my bra top. I need to pad it, shorten the straps, and move the hooks over. I'm thinking the order to do it all should be shorten straps, move hooks, then add any padding at the end?
I saw tonight that a problem I may have is the straps appear to be a bit too too far apart on me in the front. Hard to tell since at least the strap length & hooks need to be adjusted first. I could probably bring them in a teeny bit, but not a lot.
With the material & beads I'll remove from the straps, I could add it in the front in a triangle type piece attached one end to the cup & other to the strap, but I'm not sure how this would affect the costume fit (if at all).
Also, I'm debating whether to make the straps cross in the back instead of just coming straight down. Again, aside from looks, is there any added benefit to doing this (like more support, better cleavage, etc.)?

Re: Questions about top adjustments
What I find is that if I adjust the straps and hooks first, and then pad, sometimes the new padding makes the original adjustments a little too tight. Because of that I usually pad first - but then again I pad quite heavily for my little A cups.

Re: Questions about top adjustments
Cross back or halter will give you better cleavage.
I would suggest that you lightly pad then move the hooks. Then be prepared to do the whole thing over again because you will need to adjust again. Unless you are me who has been doing this so long that I can do it in my sleep. And, yes, even a DD sometimes needs padding.
So, based on that lightly pad first, move hooks second, reconfigure straps third.

Agreeing with Tahira...
pad, hooks, then straps.
Straps should be last b/c that is the determiner of how everything will look and hold together.
Rather than crossing in the back, you can also try placing the straps closer to the center of the back.
