Does Fabric for an Egyptian Skirt Have to be Stretch?

I am making my second costume. The fabric is a beautiful, slightly crinkled dark crimson satin with raw black edges. I have successfully covered the bra and added white seed pearls. Now, I'm stuck on what type of skirt to make, as I've realized, duh, there is no stretch in the fabric! I was thinking that a sarong-type style might work; does anyone know of a pattern that I could use, or have a different idea? I don't want a circle skirt, and would feel really lazy resorting to Tribal panels (especially since I don't do Tribal).

There was a pattern somewhere, in the last couple of weeks for a half circle skirt, that looked slightly sarong-ish. That would work for a non-stretch fabric. Or you could make a mermaid type skirt, with panels. It depends on how much fabric you've got left.

Thanks, Bea. I have plenty of fabric left. I'm going to look for that post with the pattern in it.
