Thread: Writing an article on costuming

Hi All,
I want to drive more traffic to my blog and social networking sites, so I am going to start a series of belly dance articles. I am by no means an expert on most things belly dance, but I have great news writing skills.

Anyway, my first article is about costuming. I would like you to send me your thoughts on trends in costuming. I want to hear from all types of dancers at any level. I am particularly interested in people who consider themselves experts in costume making, costume selling and costume buying. ;)

I also have a list of interview questions. Please e-mail me offlist your thoughts on the subject and if you like, I can send you the interview questions. The article will be posted on my blog, Web site, and myspace pages (and possibly her on bhuz).

I imagine you'll find tons of opinions, and info about costuming. One thing that popped into my mind is that I've never seen an article about Male BD costumes. I've seen choices from v. simple/traditional/folky [Tito Seif springs to mind], to tribal to really flashy/cabaret. I'd love to read an article on how the style for men have changed over the years, and what's the thought process of how men choose their costume and where they get them.

You've told us what's in it for you (more traffic to your site) but you might get more replies if you also stress what's in it for those who reply.

Thoughts on costumes is a pretty broad thing to start writing about, and it takes time. You'd be wise to contact people specifically WITH the questions first and then followup questions.

OK, here are the interview questions... I can't promise anything to anyone right now about what's in it for them, except a link and a name reference.
