I'm never using double sided tape again... Review added

Took my kids to a celtic dance shop yesterday looking for stuff for them - and came out sooo excited. Sitting on the counter was a bottle of roll on miracle liquid called "It Stays!".

" ...a gentle roll on body adhesive that washes off with water leaving no stain. It is pliable and moves with your skin. Uses: support hose, knee socks, shoulder straps, wigs, toupees, theatrical make-up and devices, orthopedic and surgical devices, etc. Simply roll on and press article in place."

    OMG!!!! .w.::tongue:
Who cares about irish/scottish dancers socks - I almost peed myself right there thinking of all the possibilities in MY world. I'm sure the sales clerk thinks I'm nuts, but who cares. Can't wait to give it a try tonight.

oooohhh.. I've heard legends of body adhesive... tales of pageant contestants spraying their butts with something that holds their bikini bottoms perfectly in place... but I thought those were urban legends.

Its REAL!?!?!?!? Never another slipping gauntlet??? *faints*

    Can't wait for the review!

Yeah, give us the details! 'Cause, seriously, I use duct tape. It works, but if I can use liquid adhesive instead, I'm switchin'!

There's all kinds on online places selling this stuff (just google) - even Amazon!

I've found many rave reviews from places that refer to using with surgical stockings, ballroom dance costumes, mastectomies (breast forms), wigs, pasties, body jewels.... you name it.

    Sounds like good stuff.

It's not bad, really. No lost skin. And it has the oomph I need for these girls.

Re: I'm never using double sided tape again...

When I was in college I read in a Cosmo (yes, I read Cosmo!) that us small busted types could create cleavage with tape. I don't know if push-up bra existed yet; I didn't wear bras (I was just an A cup; didn't see the need).

anyway, the article didn't explain how to do it. And I had this neat sweater with a cutout hole at the neckline and this looked like a cool idea, so I grabbed the girls, pressed 'em together, and ran masking tape across them to hold. I looked really hot! Well, the cleavage did anyway. Problem was, I had run the tape across the nipples and when I yanked the tape off that night I believe the entire dorm heard the screaming.

I later discovered that you are meant to run the tape UNDER the breasts!

It's made me wary of using tape on my person....

Intriguing...I just tried using Res-Q tape a friend picked up at the sewing store...wow, double sided surgical tape, basically. Owie.

I'm still red from the tape I pulled off last night, and this is after two showers.

Yes, I would also love to know how well this works.

And speaking of taping your breasts... I am currently padding a bra (pads on an angle for some push-up and cleavage - I am a B cup trying to fit into a C/D bra) and although it looks great when I first put it on, as I dance, my boobs don't seem to want to stay on the shelf I've created for them. I end up with that unwanted gap at the top of the bra.

Would adhesive or tape help in this case? If so, can anyone recommend the best way to use it?

Re: I'm never using double sided tape again...

    Review...
tried using It Stays! with my gauntlets last night and it worked GREAT. Nothing shfted or moved, even through some crazy stuff - definatly still fexible when your skin moves.
Came off easily with a pull, and there was no mark on my skin for the next costume.

I cleaned the gauntlet later with a damp cloth to get any residue off - much better than trying to remove old tape glue.

The smell was a little like strong rubbing alcohol - but that didn't last long. Good thing - I'm allergic to perfumes.

The ladies in my troupe are all intrigued. I'll most likely end up buying a 12 pack case and reselling to the dancers around here.

what I would try is applying adhesive (tape or this roll-on magic stuff, which I'm going to have to try...) to the undersides of your boobs, which will then (hopefully) stick to the shelves. you could also try another strip of tape along the top line of the bra. but I wouldn't do just the topline without the underside tape, too, in case it pulled in a funny way.

Toupee tape from costume stores works great. It is made to endure sweat. I use it to hold all kinds of things in place.

the make up artist that did our makeup for the By Dancers for Dancers video said Karo syrup is the best adhesive, just put some on and tap it with your finger tips until it becomes stringy, then press your costume or clothing to it, and it's about $2 a bottle? I can't wait to try it, because some times you can see the outline of the double sided tape if it's a sheer silky fabric you are adhering!!
