Thread: Melaya Dress Questions....

Hey everyone! I am making myself a meleya dress. I am getting inspired by one I am making for someone else but have a question.
Do I have to have it be a one-shoulder dress? Do I have to have ruffles on top? In my meleya dress dreamland I have a tight spandex dress with asymmetrical hemline, ruffles on the bottom and cap or 3/4 sleeves with a modest v or scoop neck. Is this ok? Or weird?

there are no strict rulse on what a Melaya dress is supposed to look like. I bought one in Caïro two years ago and it had two straps, so the one-shoulder dress is not mandatory.

I say go for whatever you like, as long as it embodies what melaya is.
