Mumtaz, Aziz, Mamdouh?
I'm going to purchase one of the new and tacky-licious costumes from Belly Dance Store.com, and I have my eye on a Mumtaz design. I'm not really familiar with any of these new designer's works, though. Any advice? I'm not paying $600 for something to fall apart on me ..g.:

Re: Mumtaz, Aziz, Mamdouh?
I have one of the new Mumtaz's, and it is lovely. The only problems were that someone too big for the costume must've tried it on at the store, because the fabric is pulled in one spot of the skirt (looks like a run in nylons). My seamstress is fixing it (little disappointed that I have to fix something that I've never even worn). She's also changing the halter strap for me- it's weird and stretchy. Like, so stretchy it could go around several people. My seamstress said that it would probably be ok for A cup ladies (as long as they fixed the length of the weirdly-long stretchy straps), but for those of us with bigger girls, there would be no support, no lift, nothing. So she's adjusting the length for me and then will be adding grosgrain to add some support. Hopefully that'll do it.
Sounds like I'm complaining, but the costume really is stunning. I LOVE the skirt silhouette- very flattering and wonderful for turns. I've never danced in the costume, since it's not ready yet, so I don't know how it'll hold up. For the price, it better hold up well!

I've owned a Mumtaz before. He is in the Abla family and his design flattery and work quality reflects that same level of costume from my experience.
The stretchy bra strap thing was on mine as well- I did what Amara's seamstress is doing- backing it with grosgrain ribbon for support.
