Let's talk about bra fit, ladies...
If you are wearing your costume bra, and you raise your arms above your head, and you tuck your ribcage (as though you are beginning an undulation), do you get a gap at the top of your bra cups?
I try to make certain that will not happen, even if it means padding like crazy, moving neck straps, and tightening the back strap until I can't breathe....
But lately I've watched a few dvd performances where very well-known professionals in exquisite costumes do an unulation or rib cage drop and *gasp* there's that gap. ..c::
So is it a bad thing? Is it that some professionals try to do very little to their costumes because they buy/sell so frequently (i.e. may only be using it for that one performance).
Thoughts?

Well, how much of a gap are we talking about? If I can peer into the cups and see *everything* that's obviously not acceptable. If a small line opens up along the edge of the cup, it's no big deal to me.
I wonder if having firmer (read: fake) breasts makes it more difficult to get everything to stay molded together as you move?

I know someone who uses hairspray in her cups to keep the girls in place. Im not sure how good those chemicals are... but if you try it, add extra fabric inside the bra to prevent damaging it

There was a thread a few days ago about a liquid body adhesive that someone had found. Sounds like the perfect thing for this kind of situation.

As a girl who's got implants (I hate the term "fake"...they are quite real) I have noticed that I get the gapping if i don't re-sew the top straps in a way that they angle the cups for better support.

This is why I appreciate that Bellas (and some of the lower-end Turkish costumes, too) have wires along the tops of the bra cups. Then you can just bend the wire down to conform to the bustline. I've had my seamstress do this to one or two of my bras that didn't come with this feature. (I tried to do it myself, once, but failed miserably LOL)

Re: Let's talk about bra fit, ladies...
That is a nice feature on most Bellas (but not all...) Yeah, it's not so much that stuff is spilling out in the cases I was referring to, as there isn't enough to fill up the cups, so there's a gap. I try to avoid that in mine, and I assume most people do, but I've seen it on some really well-respected dancers.
On a slightly off-kilter topic, HOW does Dina keep hers in those bras she wears that are basically just a shelf holding them up?
I get nervous just watching her dance!
