Thread: how to make a fellahi dress ?

the fullness of the skirt is important for the choreo.

I was about to post "take one fugly nightie" but the fullness does appear to be WAY fuller than your average fugly nightie pattern. Hmm.

The dresses are made with a yoke that ends above the bust and then the skirt appears to be at least a full circle with a ruffle round the perimeter. Really, it's like a giant circle skirt attached to a yoke with sleeves.

Patterns for "pioneer" nightgowns/chemises and mumu-type dresses might be a good starting point.

if you are crafty, perhaps you could modify this pattern

I have two fellahi dresses I bought from Scheherezade Imports (recommended by Souzan above) and they are VERY full. If you grab the edge of the skirt and lift it up, you can raise your arm over your head, just like a really full circle skirt.
