Thread: Am I crazy or is this bra upside down?

This is weird, but I've seen this on several costumes at the bellydancestore. Does this bra look like it's upside down to you? Like the shoulder straps were sewn onto the bra upside down. Here's one example of what I mean:

Hey, I think you're right! I thought those bras looked a little funny but I couldn't figure out why. Now that you say that they do look like they are just upside down. Very strange.

Even if everyone doesn't agree, at least I know a couple of other people saw the same thing. I think if I bought one of these costumes, I'd take the straps off and turn it upside down and resew them. I bet it would look better. I'm not considering purchasing them right now.

I've definitely thought that too! The first time I saw it I figured it was a mistake, but they kept showing up! lol.

hmm it does look like it! maybe if they pull the ribcage strap tighter to fit the mannequin it wouldn't be so obvious? cuz right now it looks like it's just hanging down..

regardless of the stylistic aesthetic, it looks like it would not support the girls from below but rather smash them to one's ribcage like a sports bra.

didn't a bhuzzer once say that the sahar bras are the cups upside down? how does that offer more support than these? (i don't own a sahar so i wouldn't know first hand but i do remember a bhuzzer mentioned that in one of the other threads..)

I am wondering whether this has something to do with how the bra is "worn" by the mannequin? It looks as if everything is a bit floppy and out of place. Could well be that this looks a lot better on a real, curvy body.

Well, yea... sometimes mistakes are made. From what I've seen the fact that they are "fixer uppers" is usually reflected in the price. On some of them it's just a matter of flipping over and switching the straps. On others it appears to be a little more involved.

The clue to me is where the connector between the cups is. Look on your regular bra and compare it to where it is on these costumes. I would love to see where the rib cage strap is on these.

I've never seen one of the upside-down bras in real life, but I've seen quite a few for sale online. I'm really just baffled.

Oh my, Andalee. I hadn't seen that one. Poor Kitty. How in the heck did she stay in it long enough for the photos?

I think someone was selling one of these on the Swap Meet and it gives the impression that the cups are big, when they really aren't.

OMG! That scares me. I mean really? Come one. You can't move in that. How can someone make that and not think it's wrong. Is it a joke?

It looks really poorly made too. And it's still kinda pricey...

OK, I am really stunned that Belly Dance Store would sell that as an acceptable costume. This is really going to make me think twice about blowing a pile of money at their business, considering this is very bad quality. .w.:
