Thread: BIG sew-on rhinestones?

They seem to be eluding me at the moment. Anyone have a source they're willing to share? I've already been to Dreamtime Creations and they don't have any larger enough. I'd like 2 inch or larger. And preferably in a navette shape.

I'm feeling the 'bhuz' to design a few more cossies. ..g.:

Have you tried tutu.com? I just ordered some smaller sew-ons from them.

I've gotten sew on Swarovski stones from fusion beads. They have a really good variety of stuff and shipping was fast:

You might also check a local fabric store, I know Joanne's and Micheal's carry a limited supply of sew on stones as well.

But 2 inches? That is MASSIVE, I don't think even swarovski make them that big, as far as I'm aware the largest readily available is the 28mm teardrop which is just over 1 inch.

I'll be very surprised if you can find sew-ons in that size, good luck!

A lot of the designers make the stones look bigger by adding a beaded or sequinned or rhinestone 'frame' in a similar colour around the stone. This is a cost effective way of getting the size you want, but takes a bit of time.

The rhinestoneguy.com has sew on crystal only as large as 28mm, and non-sew acrylic ones as large as 40mm. Nature's gems also has non-sew ons in acrylic in 40mm. I was looking for something similar a little while ago and these were the largest I found. If you find some, let me know!

Is is massive and so difficult to find. I would settle for 35-40mm too and it doesn't have to be Swarovski specifically. Though it should be crystal.

I checked the Rhinestone guy and couldn't even find the sew-on stones, but maybe I just missed it?

It seems to me as though most of the other manufacturers copy swarovski's lead and produce very similar product sizes and shapes.
I've never come across any that big on costumes OR for sale.
Have you actually seen them before or is it an idea?
