I think my favorite line from your blog is this:

I just wore this! Hours after finishing it. It held up fine.

This was before you posted your surgery...but you're at a point where you're gonna have to mix/alternate two sources or find a new, close, color, make it work, and integrate the new color a bit into the exisiting sequins,,,,,r:;

JUst so everyone knows, I didn't start out super at homemades...here was my first back in 2004:


And I ran out of cash AND fabric and was unable to finish a belt...so...I just used a hipscarf and not enough layers of chiffon skirt and...well...Cringe.

what I'm saying is a few years can really make a difference...ya'll...don't give up!

yay! I love the "short" looped fringe. And I like the "stash busting" exercise of it. This reminds me to take photos of my "before" dress I want to convert too. Is the skirt part of the dress like the white with gold top part? It would be cute made into 2 overpanels, which would be cute over pants...

Isn't this the idea of Wabi-sabi? I've always loved this concept. I read about it in Liza Dalby's "Geisha".

The skirt is actually white to blueish purple with different beadwork and very different looking, so no panels, it'll be another skirt.
