Thread: costuming pattern for petal style skirt with the points?

Does anyone know of someone who sells a pattern for a bellydance petal skirt that does NOT have a LOT of petals, (i dont want so many that it starts to look bushy) and that does not have pointed tips? I'd like something that is slightly, naturally curved along the bottom...as if you would take a basic three panel circle skirt and instead of having the two slits open over the legs, you'd have more than two ..maybe four or five.

And the petals shouldn't end abruptly or be short, I'm not looking for something that will be layered over something else..it should be a full length petal skirt with enough silk to be 'full' but again the panels or petals should lay flat and not stick out or be bushy.

Am almost tempted to think one of those pailleted sequin petal skirts might make a good example..

oh..and as a bonus (not necessary but it would be cool if.. where the panels are split up to the elastic waistband, instead of being split all the way up to the waistband, maybe the panels were sewn closed to about mid thigh

how about something like Atira's swirl skirt, but leave the seams open from the midthigh down?
