Thread: Gossamer (Fairy?) Wings/Veils

I was wondering where I could get a set of gossamer wings. I saw them being used on the BDSS entrance of the stars choreo. I like them as they are not as large as isis wings. Even if I can't buy a set would it be possible to modify wings? Any ideas?

The heading "gossamer" made me think you might mean wings like these, which are made of an opalescent fabric. I have a set like this.

But given your comment about the wings being smaller in size, perhaps you're thinking of Ayshe's swallowtail wings?

If I'm not mistaken, they look like Isis Wings (the wings in Ainsly's first link) with the sticks removed and some kind of wrist loop added.

Thats what I thought as well-would be quite easy to do :) Actually quite like the idea as it leaves my hands free :)

they're really easy to make actually. we made a bunch for when we did Entrance. basically, 1/3 or 1/2 a circle of light fabric for each side, an elastic at the wrist, and a choker-style 'necklace'.
for each dancer, the radius of the circle is the neck-ankle distance. then, have dancer try it on, and snip off some fabric around the corner that'll be at the wrist, if that length is too long for the dancer.
