$50 is too tight for your budget? Hrm...you get what you pay for. I wouldn't buy anything that costs less. Fabric alone will getcha to $35/$40, then the person making it has to make money on top of that!

Re: ISO Black Flare leg tribal or yoga pants XL
I'm with TribalDancer. I've never seen pants like these for less than $45. Desert Dancer has them, but at the same price. Sharifwear's versions are $70 and of course, the pants that started it all....Melodias... are $80.
If you want to check out the Melodia tribe (on tribe.net) or some of the swap tribes, you might get a pair for less than $45, but usually even used Melodias go for $50+ if they're well cared for.

Has anyone bought (recently) from phoenixrisingartists.com?
They are pricey too, but very beautiful.

I have friends who have Melo-Phoenix pants. Lovely stuff. Know that the Phoenix Rising pants run smaller than Melos, and the fabric is thicker and stiffer (has to be, to take the dyes).

Re: ISO Black Flare leg tribal or yoga pants XL
Hi,
I love that style myself. I was in the market for a nice pair of wide-leg pants made from material with nice flow. Even though I I'm learning for dvd's right now I still like to have the attitude and dress the mood.
Fortunately, I got real lucky and went to a discount/clearance center called "The Fashion Shack."
I know, I know it sounds cheap but believe me, they get most of their items from well known catalogs like Victoria's Secret, Roamans, Jessica London just to name a few. I took a chance and went in and left a very nice yet basic wide leg jersey knit. Great for working out and with nice enough flow that when I added one of my hip scarves it took it to another level. ( I went back and got a second pair)
But again keep in mind that at this point I do all my dancing at home but I would feel very confident wearing them to class when I do start going.
I also found a some nice dressy pants ( unfortunately not black) with sheer overlay at this websiteShop with Confidence at BCO® Bargain Catalog Outlet hope this link works. I've bought a couple of pair of pants just for practice and I love the flow. Hope this helps.

Re: ISO Black Flare leg tribal or yoga pants XL
Are you looking for something to wear in performance, or are you just looking for something fun to wear around to class, etc?
Like the others have said, you do get what you pay for. I really haven't seen the style of pants you're wanting for less than the $50 range and high quality. I totally understand being on a budget, but if you want something that is going to stand up to wear, you might consider whether you'd want one pair of pants that last for years, or some cheap ones that you have to replace every few months. And it's fine if you want cheap ones that you replace every few months if that's what you're expecting out of them.
L. Rose (L. Rose Designs - Online Catalog) custom makes jazz/flare pants starting at $41 each. The pricing gets more expensive the more elaborate you want to get.
Also, Belly Dance Costume & Dancing Supply with Moondance has some for around $40, although their quality is sometimes hit or miss.
If you're just wanting some cute pants to wear to class, you might just look into regular fitness wear. The flares won't be nearly as dramatic, but I know that Target sells bootcut workout pants by Champion for around $20. Discount Dance Supply (Discount Dance Supply) also lists some pants for around $20.Last edited by rachelw; 03-19-2009 at 11:47 AM.
