Thread: Henna patterns for feet?

Howdy y'all

I finally found a henna artist in my area. I hope to henna my feet prior to the troupe's next performance.

Any suggestions for me? I'm wondering if I should just pattern the edges ... I'll have a big full skirt on, but I want to have some mendhi done anyhow.

My suggestion is do an anklet with a design on top of foot on each side. But its really up to you, thick and bold(Arabic designs) or frilly like Indian wedding or Morrocan. Just make sure your henna artist uses real henna NOT black henna. Your artist should have design pattern books so you can choose.

Now I have to ask: what is black henna? Is it not from the plant lawsonia inermis?

According to wikipedia: "Partly fermented, dried indigo was called “black henna” because it could be used in combination with henna to dye hair black."
