Re: Share with us your vintage Pharaonics!
Many may not consider this vintage but it is definitely old school construction. I bought a very used and abused Pharaonics that I am restoring. I snagged this picture from Audrena.com.
Mine is gold with the blue scarabs. Will have it finished this summer.

Re: Share with us your vintage Pharaonics!
This is no longer mine - I bought and sold it here on Bhuz (and hope the current owner doesn't mind me posting these pics) but I think the beading on this is to die-for!
I don't know what year this was made, but I haven't seen anything like it on Audrena's site, which seems to have the most photos of past styles.
Check out the wealth of accessories with this set! It even came with a ponytail piece. (One of the ankle bands was repurposed by the previous owner for added halter strap support.)

Every centimeter of this set is covered with beads and sequins. While there are some plastic beads, they are only the oblong pearls, which don't really show the paint-chipping factor and the little silver ones, which start to blacken at the openings, but it doesn't really affect the overall look. (Maybe a few little red ones here, too, but they are minimal.)

p.s. This is not the same costume as my profile pic, but it definitely taught me that Pharaonics knows how to make fabulous reds! I have since bought two other used red Pharonics costumes - a red and purple Spiraling Jewels and the red and silver Paisley in my profile pic.Last edited by kiyaana; 03-21-2009 at 02:39 PM.

Re: Share with us your vintage Pharaonics!
Here is my vintage wild blue yonder Pharaonics fringe dress. The skirt portion is ruffled carwash all the way around and really flies when you spin.

The dress has one full sleeve and shoulder strap with gauntlet on the other side. And tons of fringe.

Bought this dress on ebay from a second hand vintage clothing dealer. It came with about a yeard of extra fabric and a large tin of extra beads and paillettes and about 6 inches of the beaded strapping that was used for the shoulder and for the cuffs on the sleeve. And it also included a blue chiffon cape. The dress had a modesty panel sewn into the skirt to the knees so that even though the ruffles go up to hip level you would not see anything above the knees. I took that out cause I like to show some leg. It also appeared to have carefully tailored alterations to fit a the original owner. These are stitched with the same type of thread and stitching that the garment construction uses so I suspect it was altered when purchased.
I just love this dress and have never seen another quite like it.
