    Eye cream - it works!

This winter, at the tender age of 42, I started regularly using eye cream. I went with Aubrey, because I know that my fussy, breakout-prone skin is OK with the brand and it's not too expensive. After several weeks, I have fewer wrinkles and dark undereye bags! There still are plenty of wrinkles (I blame my genes), of course, just not as deep. Yeay!

Anything with alpha hydroxy works for me. I use it in the winter time. But for the rest of the year, would you believe cold cream works? I use it to take off my eye makeup at night (yep, I know, bad blunder) and it is enough of a moisturizer for the rest of the year.

Why is using cold cream to remove eye make a blunder? That's what I use. I found a "natural" cold cream that doesn't have mineral oil in it. But I used to use Ponds (until I developed a slight contact allergy to the mineral oil in it) and it effectively gets everything off and it doesn't strip your skin. There's a reason cold cream has been around so long...it works.

I know that everybody's skin is different, and for me, finding moisturizer and deodorant that I tolerate is like a lottery. I have done well with Aubrey Vegecol for years, and recently added Aubrey Organics Lumessence (I just checked the name). I am sure it is by no means the greatest product ever, of course. But, even without "high-tech" ingredients or pricetag, if it gives me less wrinkles and no stinging, I am super-happy!!! Just had to share my delight ;-)

I use cold cream to take off my make-up, too...it works, it is cheap, and my skin seems to like it. I have heard people say it is bad, but never really *why* it is bad. I'm curious, too.

Steffi, yay for your eye cream working! I should use the stuff I have sitting in my medicine cabinet more often... ;)

    Whatever works, right?

My mom has slathered cold cream on her face nightly for as long as I can remember. At 65 she has no wrinkles. Go mom and Pond's!

I don't touch the stuff but I have my own products that work for me.

Awesome! I'm going to try those 'Wrinkle Free' eye patches...I have those eye wrinkles from the outer corners of my eyes that go straight back as well as the good old crow's feet. Fair skin and 30 plus years of sun don't mix, evidently! I use the Ambi brand spot lightener for my sun spots and it works great. It comes in two formulations and the oily skin version is my fave. I'll post when I get (and use) those patches. Hijack over!

My Grandmother had the most amazing skin using Ponds to clean her face and Oil of Olay as a moisturizer. I use basic Olay (with SPF 15) for day time. I d use their eye stuff as I have been told that that is probably the best thing you can invest money in. A dermatologist told me that with the rest of the expensive stuff, you are just paying for packaging.
