    Putting Mesh Inside Shoes?

I got a pair of strappy ballroom shoes but having issues with toes wanting to go in between the straps. Has anyone had any success with sewing/gluing mesh to the inside of the shoe to prevent this from happening?

It was bad enough last night that I sprained a toe and now hobbling around. ,m::

    ack! that sounds painful. :(

I don't have any advice on glueing something inside the shoe, but I have a pair of open toe shoes that I have to do floorwork in occasionally and it KILLS my toes. I bought some gel toe pads for pointe shoes. they just cover my toes, and they're nude colored so from stage you can't see them. let me see if I can find a link...

ok, they look like these: Discount Dance Supply
I'd check them out in person at a dance store, because some brands are thicker than others, there are different sizes, different colors. you can trim them to be just the shape you need. they would work to keep your tootsies together. they also are great if you have a pair of shoes that has stretched out a bit, to make them fit better.

only drawback is you can't see your pretty pedicure.

The strappy ones can be hard to wear I know that Bloch makes a peep toe nude/gold style ballroom shoe. Very 1940's looking.

you can try something like this (which looks better than just cutting up and taping hose to your foot; you have to use athletic tape which sometimes loosens with sweat)
Peda Bella Microfiber Nylon Non-Skid Toe Toppers, 2 Pairs, 6 Packs :: Clearance :: Women's Socks & Support Hosiery :: FootSmart

I prefer less-strappy shoes, or the “Freedom” Dansleeker® which come in black or nude. One of our troupe dancers wears them and they hold up well and are extremely comfortable.

Thanks for the suggestions! I think I may wind up with a different pair of shoes, I don't want to experience this issue again.
