    fade creams?

I'm a little self conscious about my knees - I'm on them a lot playing with my kids, we do floor work in my troupe, I occasionally bang them or skin them. I've got a darker pigmented patch under each knee, but also some rub marks that are still red after a couple months (I scratched my shin early last summer and had a dark mark that is only just now fading).

I know they make creams for evening out complexions or lightening your skin tone or fading scars. I'm wondering if they might help - and I'm wondering if anybody has any brand recommendations? THANKS! :)

Hi there, a dermatologist visit would bring you the quickest results, or you could talk to the pharmacist at your local drug store and find the highest "fade factor" in a cream they have. good luck!

Go to your dermatologist, over the counter "lightening" creme's are often little more then hype in a box, and the ones you get over the internet from other countries can be dangerous.

I use Ambi fade cream--they have two formulations and I like the one for oily skin. It has made a remarkable difference for my mask of pregnancy on my face as well as darkened scars on my body. It's cheap, too, about 7 bucks and that tube lasts a long time. You'll find it in the ethnic hair/skin care stuff at the drug store.

So this is not a cream, but an old home/folk-remedy that does work. You can cut open a lemon and rub the inside on your knees.

Lemons are natural sources of alpha-hydroxy acids, and do have lightening and brightening properties.

I was just gonna say this! My mom used to do this with her elbows.

If you are pale and bruise or mark easily, actually taking an iron supplement helps heal up skin much faster and lessen bruising. You might try that, although that will take a while. Also, after floor work I would rub Arnica gel on my knees, that also helped to lessen the marks.

Arnica is a great idea. However, I would be careful with iron supplements, it is one of those minerals you don't want to OD on. Too much can cause heart damage and other problems. Unless you're actually anemic, I think it would be safer to increase iron through natural dietary sources:

Daytime Fade Cream with Moisturizers | Esoterica | Beauty & Spa | Walgreens

I used a similiar cream Doozer used. I 100% recommend fade creams. I've been using this fade cream for 4 months. Results were not instant but it worked. I am thrilled. My face is all one tone and can go without foundation if I wish. You must continue to use it after or discoloration will come back in time. And it so inexpensive. Worth a try.

I got the ambi cream, and the arnica gel as well to keep on hand. it ended up being a timely purchase. ;) I went to apply the ambi the night I bought it, and noticed two lovely little bruises I got the night before, whacking myself with a cane at practice. so I get to try out the arnica as well.
