Back home after an hysterectomy: WEEEE!! :o)
AAAAH! Home sweet home! I'm back since yesterday morning and so glad to sleep and nap in my bed... and eat food with taste! Just can't bare the view of mashed potatoes and frozen peas anymore

My surgeon took out of my belly two fibroids the size of grapefruit and a bunch of smaller ones that were all around the uterus. Since my ovaries and the cervix were in good shape, he left them in. And lucky me, I don't have any vaginal bleading. Before leaving the hospital, a nurse took all the stapples on my scar and replace them with stripes of surgical tape. Cute!..g.:
I feel prudy good, althought my belly is a bit swollen today, but the medication should take care of that in a few days. I took a two hours nap again this afternoon with our two "pudy cats", and then around 9 PM my bed is calling me ,s::, so I'm taking it easy and enjoying it.
Thanks again to all your loyal Bhuzzers who send get well wishes and prayer, love you.

Hey girl, welcome back, I am soooooooooooo glad you are back home and are doing good. I have a few fibroid cysts myself, but I am trying to have a baby with my husband, so hysterectomy is out of the question for a while.

SO GLAD everything went well! All DONE, it gets MUCH better from here!
By the way the swelling stays for a bit, I had one side with swelling. Looked pretty funny! Made my husband laugh and then me and then pain from laughing!
(so my advice, don't watch any commedies for a few days!)
Oh isn't it nice to curl up with the cats!!!! They are always up for that, my four ALWAYS want to sleep with me! So be a cat, sleep and get better!

Good on you! My wife had hers 12 years ago, multiple fibroids - they just took *everything* out. Took her a long time to get her strength back, but she doesn't miss her period or going through menopause!

Back in '01, I had surgery to remove 10 uterine fibroid tumors, 1 of which was the size of a grapefruit (When I went to have my staples removed, doc showed me a polaroid pic of that sucker she had taken as they took it out during surgery!:)). You had "twins" (grapefruits)!!! ..l;,
Congrats & Glad you're home now! I'm happy that you're happy; rest up good and well, Missy! We shall all be dancing joyfully (and pain-free) together soon!..g.:

Re: Back home after an hysterectomy: WEEEE!! :o)
I am feeling better little by little, execpt for yesterday, I have met my new enemy: constipation! .w.:,m::
Believe me you don't have to be a queen to spend long time "on the trone". I thought my scar was going to rip open!
But finaly in the evening, number two append and I had some relief before going to bed. Have to be careful with what I eat untill the scar star pulling a little less.
I'm doing hand sewing to pass the time. I'm remodeling an old silver bedlah, but that's a other thread, will post some pics later.
Kissy, kissy

I'm so glad you are doing well. There's a All Bran fiber drink that tastes like iced tea (or even lemonade), they have 10g of fiber and are really good. Maybe that will help.
Take care!

Re: Back home after an hysterectomy: WEEEE!! :o)
Hello, do u have milk of magnesia were you are? I took that on the second day of another stomach surgery (had uterine cancer again) and the hosp won't let you go home unless you have a bowel movement! Needless to say, I waited too late to go to the bathroom and ended up cleaning my mess that I trailed to the bathroom! Yuch!
When I was on chemo, I had to literally chisel myself out, maybe also take stool softner, but the milk of magnesia works on me now and my hubby....so do take care!
Found out the more I walked and stuff, my healing was better too.
After surgeries, I was made to get out of bed like 2 hours later and the nurses forced me to walk..I thought it was crazy but it helped to heal me faster.
