Thread: Show me your L. Rose Trumpet skirts

I am going to make a belt with some leftover stuff and I want to buy an L. Rose set. I need to save up for it!

Here's the deal.
I am getting a trumpet skirt with a matching U-top and gauntlets.
I will wear it with a gold bra and the new belt.
I can also wear it with my Gold Great Loop.
I am currently leaning toward turquoise or teal.

I need to decide on what type of trumpet skirt to get and what fabric...lycra or smooth velvet?

Show me yours so I can see the range.

I'm sorry I don't currently have anything to show you but this is what I know about LRose.
I think the current Teal Luxury Velvet is kind of a blue teal.
Lycra with no embellishments show a lot of body imperfections like cellulite.
The LRose trumpet skirt is fantastic. I ordered my first one too small and it was ok, but I definitely checked my measurements the next time!

I am a big fan of the luxury velvet that LRose uses. I would recommend getting a few fabric samples from them so that you know the skirt will match the materials of your belt. Having fabric samples has saved me from several ordering mistakes in the past where the color I would have chosen by looking at online pics would not have matched my fabric very well. I have 2 LRose trumpet skirts that I will post pics of when I get home (one deluxe and one peek-a-boo). If I wasn't broke I would love to buy more, the ladies at LRsoe do fabulous work! If you are getting the u-top with any of the chiffon drape options be sure to check their list of coordinating fabrics to make sure that they have chiffon to go with the skirt fabric you choose.

I don't have any pictures either but I have both materials and I love them. You will not regret spending the money. They are so durable and you can throw them in the wash (gentle cycle). In fact, they are so comfortable, I think you could take a nap in them!

I forgot about swatches. I send them samples of what I wanted to match and Shoshanna sent me about a million samples to choose from.

Just speaking of the durability and the fabric quality, I wear LRose gear to class and I wash them after every wear. Normal cycle and I dry them. No shinkage, no fading, nothing.

I had a student have a problem with some pants once, and Lora fixed it right away. Their customer service is awesome.

If you have any friends who want to order too, they give large order discounts.

This is me in my orange L.rose U-top, deluxe trumpet skirt and head band in luxury velvet. (Bedleh is 'American Icon' from dahlal.)



You can't see the skirt very well because I'm kneeling (I should have splayed it out for this pic) but I just have to say I couldn't be happier with it. It fits like a DREAM. It came in four weeks (which was INSANELY FAST considering it had to cross the USA/Canadian border).

I'd order from them again in a heartbeat and I got at least two of my troupe mates to order from them. As soon as they saw me in this, they placed their orders.

And your belt looks like it will be really cool! I would suggest, since the belt has a texture on it, that you go with something smooth, to contrast the belt better - the luxury velvet would be perfect, IMO. ETA: And I think turquoise would really bring out the trim!

you know, I think the best thing to do is call up L Rose and ask for some swatches. you can get 5 or 6 for no charge. that way you can see the differences between nylon lycra & luxury and panne velvet.

the shangri-la tie dye might be pretty with your stuff.

I totally agree. Send them pictures of your costume as well, may help them pick swatches. That's what I did, and she sent me a swatch of turquoise velvet that wasn't listed on their website based on the photos of my bedlah.
