Spring nail polish colors
Getting a pedi this weekend for a show and a photo shoot. I am trying to decide. Azhia mentioned dove grey or orange, but it is not my taste (neither is nude). Here is what I managed to find:
(I really like Pink Cadillac and Purple Rain)
I like the lilac, I just can't imagine it looking good on my feet!

God, I wish I still worked above that Chinese Beauty Supply store. I would probably be skipping work now to check out the polish!

Re: Spring nail polish colors
I've been in the mood for CRAZY bright neon pink lately, for some reason. So I'd lean toward the pink cadillac myself.
Of course it's up to you!

Re: Spring nail polish colors
My summer colours are usually nudes, mauves and pale pinks. Winter, deep wines. Sometimes it depends on the length of my nails. Most of those are great!

Re: Spring nail polish colors
I'm personally sticking with "Mad Men" colors this spring for nails and lips: coral or bright pink. Red is also included but I don't wear red.
Bright, grassy green is also in.

I love the new navy frosted... so fun!
OPI South Beach collection has some nice colors too! I like Collins Avenue, looks coral.
I like doing the french manicure on my toe nails, with a painted flower on the big toes. Not sure if it is in style anymore, but I love it anyway!

Re: Spring nail polish colors
I love shiny sheer nude nail colors, because the little chips and imperfections don't show up.. heh heh...
I'll wear bright clear red year round -- my favorite has just a hint of gold sheen to it.
But this spring, I'm going for brilliant fuschia!

when i'm not wearing nudes....metallic silver, peridot green, opals, blues, glitters. rarely dark colors because of the wear factor. tinah

Re: Spring nail polish colors
My nails aren't really fit for polish at present but I prefer nude pink, silver, deep red or wine. I have a pathological horror of green on the nails and though I've worn blue in the past, wouldn't now. I am going to try black, though, because I never ever have. (It's just coming into winter now btw, so I'm allowed.)
I don't like anything extremely bright. It's deep or pale for me and nothing in between!

Re: Spring nail polish colors
I love nudes, light pinks and golds for photoshoots because it seems to extend the leg alllll the way through to the toe and make your legs appear just a tad bit longer. Same with fingers, if you have stubby fingers like me then dark colors just make them look that much smaller. I am glad that nude polish is really in this season. Good luck with your show and shoot, let us know how it goes!

My photographer warned me that she is going to take pictures of my feet, so I need to pick something that will look great on film.

OPI South Beach. I bought Miami Beet bright pinky red and am tempted (for the first time ever) by a bright sparkly coral in the range.

Re: Spring nail polish colors
I love and will try just about anything on my toes (oddly, French only for my fingers though) but my all time favorite is OPI's ChaChing Cherry. I'll try to find a pic...
ETA: Google Image Result for http://us.st12.yimg.com/us.st.yimg.com/I/goddess-within_2044_44779068
It looks more red in the pic but it is definitely a gorgeous pink.Last edited by maranajla; 04-01-2009 at 01:53 PM.

Re: Spring nail polish colors
I think its good to go with something that looks good on YOUR skin tone and not feel constrained to go with what is in style this season. There are some great colors suggested on here so you cant really go wrong! O.P.I. "I'm NOt Really A Waitress" is a good classic. I bet it would look pretty with your coloring.

I picked up a bottle of dove gray nail polish recently and am astonished by how nice it looks, like beautiful clay.

This is one of my all time faves: Orly Hot Stuff, Not So Dusty Rose ORLY Nail Polish
Samira, the O.P.I. "I'm NOt Really A Waitress" looks like a color I have from Mabeylline (Berry Charming). I'll probably end up picking out something at the salon....Last edited by andalee-oriental; 04-01-2009 at 02:47 PM.

Re: Spring nail polish colors
I got 3 new colors at Sally yesterday. Savvy Red by Savvy, A Collector's Dream by Finger Paints (rosy color w/slight silver undertone), and Tangerine Tint by Finger Paints. I've never had orange polish before and I've been on an orange kick lately (orange costumes, orange polish, orange anything), so that's what I'm getting this weekend for my pedi; Tangerine toes ..g.:

Re: Spring nail polish colors
I agree with Samira about the flashy and dark colours making your fingers look even smaller.
I dont really go for the colours that are in at the moment.
I go with what I like , my favourites are blues ( frosty royal blue or turquoise) and purple. I wear red mostly if I am wearing a red costume.
Lilac looks really pretty on your feet cause it is more descreet, sometimes looks silver, since I dont wear pink I usually go for the lilac instead, especially in the summer when it blends in better with my summer dresses.
those are all colours that go with my bd costumes.

I went with Sally Hansen's Salon "Orange you cute." It really is! It's like a hot-pink and orange explosion! Love it.

Re: Spring nail polish colors
Yup. Just the other day (inspired by this thread) I busted the budget and went for a mani/pedi. (spring cleaning for my feet!)
The gal talked me into a hot corally pink, and it was bright and cute, but I just look better in cooler toned reds.
I picked up a bottle of Sinful Colors Cha Cha Red, which is really more like a deep magenta, and painted over it. So happy now!
04-06-2009 03:41 PM #29Re: Spring nail polish colors
I'm an OPI junkie. Every time they launch a new line I buy a couple. So I guess I am seasonal. But lately I keep veering towards "Melon of Troy" and then I reached into my bag of tricks and came up with this red by Ulta but it doesn't have a name.
Then again, since the age of nine, I've never needed an excuse to wear nail polish because I was hopelessly hooked very young!
