There are a few pieces that with the help of Dharma Trading's products may actually look quite lovely ;-) I would happily a adopt a few of these for no fee at all.

Yeah, this vendor has been discussed repeatedly, with many people expressing their dissatisfaction. That said, they seem to have some hidden gems for those who are willing to take the risk. Not planning to, but I could find a few new toys there.

I started out at the top of the page thinking, "these aren't so bad...not great, but not awful." Then I started scrolling down. *wince*

What is the deal with horizontal stripes? Why, when fashion critics, designers, etc. etc. tell us that horizontal stripes make us look fat, and we always agree, do we see millions of hideous striped designs EVERY DAMN SEASON?

What is it about the human that finds these irresistible?

Do they feed our need to be swathed in an awning? Tigers don't look fat - they use their fashion for looking Tyra Banks-fashion forward FIERCE, and zebras...hello...mostly vertical stripes...why...why.. why then do we do it?

That statement referred to the old jewelry and old textiles. It means that no two are exactly alike with regard to color etc. This is not an unusual disclaimer for items that have vintage sari trim, etc.

I would agree there are some very ugly items for sale on this site, there are also so me that I would buy for a Turkish Romani costume or a vintage oriental costume. For example:





There are also a number of skirts, including stripey tiered styles, that could be made to work well with an ATS costume.

Everything there is either pretty or hideous, no in between. That said, I find this appealing:

They also have some nice plain chiffon petal skirts towards the bottom of the page. They are too sheer to wear alone, but over another skirt or harem pants, they'd be cute.

yes, that black and gold, also the black, gold and teal pictured above... worth taking the chance they'd actually be sewn that straight when you got them... pretty!
