    Question "Up Date" - Anyone of you uses a bead spinner?

    Okay, I'm a gadget amateur, and thought that looks to work good and fast. But so far I'm not impress with it. ..c::

    I purchased the Beadalon, see demo:

    [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7NzhHBrbDGo&feature=related]YouTube - BOCAGE, live on MARTHA![/ame]

    Started with small glass beads, wasn't that bad, but still took time. Try again with bigger glass beads, and it's worst.

    Is it me? I know the angle of the needle is very important, but then it's so small, it's keep rolling between my fingers ,m::. Hum! Did some of you had better results or luck... ?

    Looks so easy on the video, but then I'm no Martha Stewart! ,f::

    I've thought about one, has anyone made fringe using it? Does it really save a lot of time?

    Thumbs up Re: "Up Date" - Anyone of you uses a bead spinner?

    OK! I try again today, and I figured it out! Yeh!

    You have to make it spin very fast at first, than you lower the needle into the bowl gently and not to deep into the spinning bowl.

    I was putting to much pressure on the needle and wasn't spinning the bowl fast enough.

    Took me a little more practice, but now it works good and I am finally in love with it!

    I'm giving it a :thumbs_up:

    BTW, I purchased it on eBay, but friends told me that you can find them at Walmart (in Quebec province too!)

    Have fun spinning beads!

    Yes. And yes...kind of. You have to get a specific size bead. If your beads have different size interior holes (that just sounds wrong lol) it won't work. It'll keep getting jammed. Although, even when jamming, it's still faster than beaded by hand.

    You have to have the speed just right and you have to have your needle in the exact right position. If you accidently move the needle and it gets caught on the spinning bowl, look out! Beads everywhere! lol
    The biggest con is that it's best to use just one color.
