    Lime Crime

Lime Crime is the makeup line created by Doe Deere, also known as Xena, who I think is adorable and talented.
Jetgirl graciously sent me a few samples of some Lime Crime product:
    Electric Bubblegum Blush,
    Enchant,
and a bit of Banshee Glitter.

I used each for performance recently and wanted to give my grain of salt in case anybody is interested in trying out these products.

I've worked with a lot of mineral products and I found these pretty much like everything else I've encountered. Not so intense unless you prime them (as Xena suggests).
The colors are fabulous and I really liked the Bubblegum blush for a recent geisha-ish number.
Otherwise, relatively unremarkable as far as texture or intensity. I think my makeup preferences have changed. I'm less inclined to use shimmer or glittery products and love intense, matte ones. I find that loose powdered products are a little less controllable and that bugs me so I am less attracted to loose powder and mineral products these days.

It all really depends on the looks you are going for. If you want fantasy, intense, bright makeup application, these colors are wonderful for that but be aware that you must prime first, preferably with a matching-toned primer and/or cream product that dries to a powder finish. And do your eyes first so you can clean up stray powder that might have fallen during your application, and then apply concealer/foundation.

I think these would be great as lip color mixed with clear Lip Glass.

Hi Azhia, thanks for the review!
I pretty much agree with you, although one reason to get Lime Crime is because her colors are pretty unique. I'm still wanting Nymph because I can't seem to find anything else like it. I like the Banshee glitter, but it is much more a very dark sparkly shadow than a true glitter. I do looooove the blush though.

Have you tried Fyrinnae? Omg, they are pretty amazing. And they sell samples. I thought the dark colors were far more intense than other loose shadows, as much or more so than MAC pigments. Kuroneko is the most amazing metallic black, Karasu is a raven blue/black, Bite Me is great on lips, and they have an amazing decadent Shrouded in Gold. And they have the best very pale girl highlighter EVER called Confidence.

I'm really into my tiny collection of matte eyeshadows too (either Yaby or MAC).

I place a paper towel under my eye (covering my cheeks) which protects my foundation application when applying any kind of eye shadow with sparkles or dark color. Just wanted to add that little technique.
I'm told that one can also add a smattering of foundation powder to the upper cheek and when done with the shadow application, use a fan brush to sweep away all the "fallout". Is that something you've tried Azhia - does that technique work?

I was thinking of trying post-its...

    Re: Lime Crime

    Jasani,
I've done both of the techniques you mentioned.
For years I held squares of toilet paper underneath my eye and sponges underneath clients' eyes.
I cover every single method I know of in the DVD but by doing the eyes first, something I switched to since October, I have more free hands and more freedom to apply as I wish and it's much easier to remove fallen eyeshadow.

The fan brush technique works to an extent but without the right pressure (or lack thereof), the eye shadow could streak. I can't blow on my own face and blowing on clients' faces is just unsanitary.

PLUS, if you do "winged" eyeliner, a touch of foundation underneath makes it super crisp.

Jetgirl, I'm going to have to check out those other products you mentioned!! Just the names alone sound intriguing enough for me to want to play! Yes, Lime Crime does have amazing colors. I do like them for that. :0)
