    floss

for those of you that use dental floss for making fringe, do you use waxed or unwaxed? I tried with the wax and it makes a stiffer fringe and I'm wondering if that would look too oddly stiff or if it might look nicer....

I use waxed because it helps the beads stay in place better. But I noticed that after a while the stickiness wears off a little and the fringe flows pretty nicely. Maybe you could try a few strands and see if you like the effect.

I haven't been able to find unwaxed floss, and don't want to order it. I've heard that buttonhole and quilting thread are supposed to work well, too.

waxed. it's a bit annoying when you get to the curly end of the spool, but can straighten it in your (warm) hands.

Yeah, I tie off the end of the floss and then use the needles to slide the beads on
