    Wings of Isis fabric?

I've been saving my pennies for some wings & am now shopping & comparing. I see them made in different fabrics - what are the differences between them? I've seen organza, tissue lame, & chiffon. The organza & chiffon have mostly been the shimmer/sheer wings, with tissue lame being the solid/opaque colors. Is it purely aesthetic or is it in how they handle as well?

i think its' aesthetics but then again i've only danced with my shimmery pair (the ones featured in my avatar) which are more of a organza fabric..or at least i think they are lol
i love the way the lame looks though because it looks like liquid when you spin. i'm resisting the temptation to buy myself a new pair hehe

oh and when you're 'fluttering' ur lame wings, u can actually see the movement and the ripple effect. not so much w/the sheer organza/chiffon ones.

I love my double sided wings. They are gold on one side and leopard print on the other. They are larger and heavier than my lame or organza wings and take some swishing about but they look gorgeous.

What about the difference in the ones split in the back/two wings vs. where it's one whole piece/not split?

ruya-i don't think i've seen those before, i need a visual. i just keep imaging a cape when u say 'one whole piece' lol

akasha-they're not one size fits all, they're measured from the neck piece to the longest point of the wing. for example, i have a pair of 59" wings that are humongous for any of my shorter dance friends but they work perfectly for my 5'9" height. (i had a friend who's about 5'3" try them and she couldn't even reach the dowels, let alone not trip over them lol). I think I can also get away with 57" tho which i think (or at least have seen) is the 'standard' size of most wings.

Now that I'm looking for it, I can't find the picture I saw of the one piece. No, not a cape, it's exactly same as the 2 piece/split down the back wings, it's just not split down the back is all. Exactly the same in every other way. The two wing style seems to be what most use, I was just curious about that, though.
