Thread: Fast fix needed for weird bra...please!

Hi everyone!

Due to circumstances outside my control, I have to suddenly change my costume plans for an upcoming group performance. The belt I will be wearing is fine (since I adjusted it to sit higher on my hips than in the attached photo) but the bra is... kinda tacky? My intent was to remodel the entire bra, basically just re-using the sequins and beads to make something new and pretty. I still plan to do that, but there's no way I'll get it done before the photo session we have this weekend.

So... does anyone have advice for a "quick-fix" I can use to make this thing stage and photo-worthy by Sunday?

If it's at all helpful to note, I will be wearing the costume on a stage so no one will see it up close, and I can hide behind my Isis wings for the photos.

One idea I came up with on my own is to cover it with either a cowl, shrug, or tie-top made from the same yellow chiffon I'm making harem pants from.

Any suggestions?

Move cups slightly closer together, remove all fringe on the bra except for a cluster between the cups...deal with re-fringe and embellishments later.

I was also going to suggest that a fast fix would be to remove the fringe from under the cups leaving just the belly drape. If you are in the mood, you can take the fringe you removed and add it to the cups along the trim line. But that can wait.

move cups closer together, remove rib fringe, leaving just center fringe. attach rib fringe along trim line of each cup to disguise the weird boob-frame/eyeball effect. OR add appliques to each cup to fill in the empty green space and also add applique to center between cups. Tighten straps and pad cups slightly for better fit.

Ditto to what they said above. Also make SURE you tighten the back strap. It looks like the bra is too loose to be secure. Underboob is bad!

I agree hide what you can with appliques and get rid of at least some of that fringe.

Thanks for the advice! I adjusted the straps and moved the cups closer together so at least it fits secrurely. Next will be a fringe-ectomy and probably adding an applique made from the wrist bans to the centre piece. Still debating just covering those eye-ball cups with a tie top of some sort. I'll post pictures once I'm finished with it.
